Answers to many commonly asked questions about our small groups.

FAQs

What materials are included?

A complete set of materials, including a lesson manual and multiple practice exams will be provided to your student at the first class. Your student will also receive a copy of a practice test and bubble form for use at our weekend practice tests.

How will instruction be broken down?

Each 12-hour small group prep class is evenly divided between English and reading, and math and science.  Two weeks will target the English and reading sections, and two other weeks will target math and science.  Each week’s class lasts for three hours and is in-person.  Students will have a brief break halfway through the class session.

Will there be homework?Yes, students should plan to complete about two hours of homework in between each class session.

Do I need to take a practice test before the class begins? If the student has time, we recommend that they plan to take a full-length proctored practice test with Flying Colors prior to starting the class.  This is a great way to give the student practice with the test and to provide a benchmark score against which they can measure the progress they make in the class. The practice test will also provide our instructors with the most current scoring data for your student.

Does Flying Colors register my student for a real ACT or SAT?No.  Flying Colors cannot register a student for a real test.  Please go to www.act.org to register for the ACT or mysat.collegeboard.org/login to register for the SAT.
What’s your course refund policy? We understand that sometimes things happen! We will issue you a complete refund when a request to cancel a class registration is requested at least 30 days prior to the first class.  If the request is made less than 30 days prior to the first class, you will receive a credit for the value paid for the class that can be used for tutoring anytime within six months of the start date of the class.  Requests must be received by Barbara Jeffers and Ron Michalak via email: [email protected] and [email protected].
